Bodegas Félix Sanz (D.O. Rueda and D.O. Ribera del Duero)
Our wine-cellars are set in the heart of the Rueda town. They keep more than 300 barrels and have the capacity to store 500,000 litres. The bottling lines have a capacity of 2,500 bottles per hour. The wine-cellar is equipped with the latest technology in harvesting, wine-processing and bottling.
In 1934 Mr. Félix Sanz Revuelta founded the wine-cellar. This year also marked the beginning of the commercialisation of the selection of white wine created from the region’s star variety, that is, the Verdejo. The old, underground wine-cellars, which had been used since the XV Century, gradually became the birthplace for the new white wines for the Félix Sanz Wine-cellars. The works in Rueda and some expansion projects in the D.O. Ribera de Duero would together provide a capacity of 700,000 litres and a stock of more than 500 barrels of French, American and Central European oak. The wine-cellar has more than 30 Ha. of vineyards.
